Tips for a comfortable, happy and safe visit ...
Post Office
The Kenyan postal system is very reliable.  Letters sent from Kenya rarely go astray and take approximately 6-10 days to the reach the UK.

Post Offices are identified by red mail boxes, red telephone booths and the initials KT & TC.

Stamps can be purchased at stationers, souvenir shops and hotels, as well as from the Post Office.

As there is no home mail delivery service in Kenya, all mail articles are addressed to Post Office boxes. Residents generally use their company's PO Box number.
Post Office Hours
The Post Office hours in Mombasa are:
  • Monday to Friday .........................................................  08.00hrs - 13.00hrs
                                                                                            14.00hrs - 17.00hrs
  • Saturdays at Main Post Offices  ......................................  08.00hrs - 12.00hrs
Pay Telephones
To use a public pay telephone, insert the coins and dial.  The coins will drop automatically as soon as the call is answered.
Parcel Post to Kenya
This should be treated with scepticism.  Generally, the post is interfered with and one cannot guarantee that parcels of any size will arrive at all.  Use couriers, such as UPS or FedEx - but this may be costly.

Send money via Western Union or similar organisation.
